LADY GAGA Tattoos

Lady Gaga has had her left arm tattood, which can be prominently seen in her new “Telephone” video, since August 2009. She got it in Osaka, Japan on a midnight tattoo run when she was in the country getting Hello Kitty photographs taken.

The cursive script is a Rilke quote, a poet who Gaga calls her “favorite philosopher.” It’s written in German, Rilke’s language, but translates in English as:

“Confess to yourself in the deepest hour of the night whether you would have to die if you were forbidden to write. Dig deep into your heart, where the answer spreads its roots in your being, and ask yourself solemnly, Must I write?”

Some claim this is just dribbling German romanticism, but anyone who’s ever come to a crossroads in life where you are forced to choose between two things knows that there’s something too this type of melodrama. Sometimes it is the only thing. There are many kinds of death we endure in our lives before our heart stops beating, it doesn’t mean that you will stop breathing if you don’t do what you dream of doing, or what makes your feel the most at home in the world. But part of yourself does get packed up and forgotten.

Lady Gaga may mean something a little more literal, she may really think that she may die if she does write music or wear artsy-fartsy clothing, or inspire the devotion of millions (maybe billions?). During many of her onstage performances she collapses to the floor and tells the audience that she’s like Tinkerbell, and they must applaud to make her live

Miley Cyrus Tattoos

Miley Cyrus love tattoo

Miley Cyrus has proven she 'Can't Be Tamed,' and when she arrived at Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday, she appeared to be sporting a new tattoo. The word "LOVE" is inscribed on her right ear, although she has not confirmed if it's real or not. Perhaps it is a permanent dedication to her 20-year-old Australian boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth? If the tattoo is real, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus would have had to sign-off on it because Miley is only 17 -- in the U.S., it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to get a tattoo without parental permission. The singer already has "Just Breathe" inked on her ribcage. Of course, that ink honors the memory of one of her close friends, who passed away from cystic fibrosis over three years ago. ("Just Breathe" is the slogan for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.)

Miley Cyrus' tattoo tribute

Miley Cyrus says her new tattoo is a constant reminder never to take life for granted.

Miley Cyrus says her new tattoo is a constant reminder never to take life for granted.

The Hannah Montana star recently had "Just Breathe" etched under her left breast as a tribute to her late grandfathers and one of her closest friends, who died of cystic fibrosis, and gets her inspiration from it.

She said: "It reminds me not to take things for granted. I mean, breathing — that was something none of them could do, the most basic thing. And I put it near my heart, because that is where they will always be."

Although Miley, 17, is afraid of needles, she insisted she didn’t feel any pain because the tattoo meant something to her.

She told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: "It really doesn't hurt if you're thinking about the meaning. I could never get a meaningless tattoo, but I think that if you're doing something that's important, that's significant in your life, it takes some of the pain away.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoos

It took a few years, but it seems that the book that was a hit in Sweden has become a worldwide sensation. For the record, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has no wizards, vampires or lycanthropes. What it does have is the most fascinating character to grace mystery literature in quite a while. Her name is Lisbeth Salander. She is the titular heroine in this tightly plotted and sometimes violent whodunit in what is the first of a trilogy of mysteries from Stieg Larsson.

The mystery opens on journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) being found guilty in a libel suit against Swedish industrial magnate Hans-Erik Wennerström. After the verdict - and to his surprise - Mikael is courted by wealthy patriarch Henrik Vanger (Sven-Bertil Taube) to investigate the disappearance of a teenage girl. The girl was Vanger's niece, Harriet, and she's been missing for over forty years. Disgraced and jobless Mikael takes on the case, which has him relocate to the small island where the disappearance occurred. Tracing his movements is Lisbeth (Noomi Rapace), the investigator who was assigned to do a background check on Mikael on behalf of the Vanger family. Lisbeth is a polarizing character; her standoffish behavior and Goth-inspired attire make her invisible to those who dare look in her general direction. Twenty-four and underdeveloped in areas that men like to ogle, Lisbeth is a basket case of emotions. Working alone on the case, Mikael is good. But when Lisbeth offers assistance, the case takes a dramatic turn. Per his urging, the two work together, weeding through old photographs and documents. Untrusting of others, Lisbeth finds herself growing to trust Mikael, but soon that trust is put to the test as they inch closer to a possible serial murderer.

Watching the film at this year's South by Southwest Film Festival, only to read the novel afterward, the writing team of Nikolaj Arcel and Rasmus Heisterberg has to be commended for condensing Larsson's 590-page work (if going by the U.S. softcover release) into an investigative mystery masterwork. A labyrinth maze of names, faces, and theories, Dragon Tattoo's narrative bobs and weaves all over the Swedish landscape. Commanded by director Niels Arden Oplev, the film is a weighty procedural, and he measures each scene so as to let the viewer survey the situation along with Mikael and Lisbeth.

Dragon Tattoo Designs

This attraction for the dragon has carried on till the present day making dragon tattoo designs, by far the most requested tattoo design. But dragon tattoos can be easily customized by using different colors, shapes and numbers, so if you go to a good tattoo artist, he can take a regular dragon tattoo and create something unique.

Dragon tattoos have different meanings throughout the world and the way they are drawn is also different in different parts of the world. So before you pick a dragon tattoo design be sure to find out what it represents and if that representation is in line with what you would like it to epitomize in your life. Dragons are most commonly used to exemplify a powerful and commanding beast which has supremacy over all other creatures. But in countries such as China and Japan, dragons represent something benign and friendly but still powerful none the less. The Japanese have used dragons to represent their emperors for several generations. In Chinese culture dragons are considered to bring in good luck and fortune, so they are depicted as happy and cheerful. On the other hand, in the west dragons have always been associated with negative energy; they are portrayed as something fuming and atrocious. Here they are sketched as huge, winged, fire breathing creatures. But most often people getting a dragon tattoo want to depict the powerful, majestic nature of the dragon rather than the evil, blood sucking, beast eating one.
